Carson City, NV—The No. 16 SLCC Softball team (9-7, 7-4 SWAC) fell to Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Western Nevada College (WNC) (4-11, 1-5 SWAC) 8-7 in game one of Saturday's doubleheader at Edmonds Field.

*Game two of the doubleheader was cancelled due to inclement weather with SLCC holding a 7-1 lead in the third inning and the contest will not be replayed or resumed.

The Bruins had 10 base hits in game one with two errors committed and SLCC left seven runners on base. The Wildcats tallied eight hits in game one with three errors and five left on.

Game 1 – Stats vs. WNC: Bruin sophomore infielder Taylor Tann (Syracuse, UT) was 3-for-4 at the plate with a double and freshman infielder Payton Hart (Bountiful, UT) was 3-for-4 with a double. Sophomore infielder Megan Bradshaw (Orem, UT) hit a home run in the sixth inning in the losing effort. Freshman pitcher Baylee Reeves (Brigham City, UT) took the loss.

Game 2 – Stats vs. WNC: N/A, cancelled due to high winds and inclement weather.

Next up for Head Coach Cyndee Bennett and the Bruins are the team's 2014 home opening games against rival No. 9-ranked College of Southern Idaho (15-5, 10-2 SWAC) on Friday, Feb. 21 with first pitch for game one slated for 1 p.m. at Bruin Softball Field.
