Salt Lake City, Utah- No. 21 SLCC Softball (17-7) completed the series sweep in a competitive four game series against Snow College (9-18).
The Bruins won game three of the series in walk-off fashion 10-9. After three innings Snow led 7-0 after hitting two three-run homers and driving in another run on a groundout. The Bruins clawed back and scored a run in the third and two runs in the fifth. 2B Irma Medina was responsible for one of those fifth inning runs as she hit a solo home run.
Snow scored a run in the top of the sixth to lead 8-3. 1B Hannah Barlow hit another home run and the Bruins trailed 8-6 after six innings of play.
The Badgers added another insurance run in top of the seventh to lead 9-6. Salt Lake rallied and scored two runs in the seventh on RBI singles from PH Olivia Harker and DP Jazmine Prathan. Pinch Runner Taylor Jones scored the tying run on a wild pitch and Prathan scored the game winning run moments after on a wild pitch. RHP Aubrie Hansen got the win, threw 5.1 innings for Salt Lake, and struck out seven batters.
Salt Lake won the final game of the series 12-4 in six innings. The Bruins started quickly this time as 1B Savannah Palmatier and RF Jettlee Ioane hit RBI singles in the bottom of the first. Prathan added a two-run home run and the Bruins led 4-0 after one. An RBI single by LF Taitumn Reynen put the Bruins up 5-0 after two innings of play. Snow scored three runs in the third and Salt Lake matched them in the bottom half of the inning. CF Lahela Painter scored on a wild pitch in the fifth inning to put Salt Lake up 9-4. Ioane hit a two-run home run in the sixth and Prathan ended the game yet again, this time with a solo home run.
