Carson City, NV—The
No. 16-ranked SLCC Softball team (9-6, 7-3 SWAC) won both games of a doubleheader with Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Western Nevada College (WNC) (3-12, 0-6 SWAC) on Friday at Edmonds Field.
The Bruins topped the Wildcats
14-5 in five innings for the game one win and out-hit WNC 15-7. SLCC finished with three errors committed to two for the Wildcats. SLCC topped WNC
7-5 in game two and finished with a 16-11 advantage in base hits.
Game 1 – Stats vs. WNC: SLCC freshman pitcher
Courtney Platt (Riverton, UT) earned the win in game one with four strikeouts, one walk, three hits and three runs (two earned) allowed in 4.2 innings pitched. The Riverton High School graduate threw first pitch strikes on nine of the 17 batters she faced.

Chelsa Baca (Las Vegas, NV) had no strikeouts and allowed four hits and two runs, one earned, in 0.1 innings in the circle.

Rianna Splinter was 4-for-4 at the plate with a double, two runs batted in (RBI) and four runs scored as the designated hitter. Sophomore infielder
Taylor Tann (Syracuse, UT) was 3-for-3 with three doubles, a stolen base, one RBI and two runs scored.

Megan Reed (Pocatello, ID) went 3-for-4 with a double, one RBI and a pair of runs scored. Sophomore infielder
Megan Bradshaw (Orem, UT) was 2-for-3 with one RBI and two runs scored and freshman infielder
Bailie Nelson (Las Vegas, NV) was 1-for-4 with two RBI.
Game 2 – Stats vs. WNC: Platt got her second start of the day and struck out one Wildcat batter with one hit allowed in 1.1 innings pitched. Freshman pitcher
Paige Reimann (South Jordan, UT) struck out two WNC batters with 10 hits and five runs allowed (one earned) in 5.2 innings of work.
Splinter was 4-for-5 at the plate with two doubles, three RBI and two runs scored.
Reed was 2-for-4 with one RBI and two runs scored and freshman catcher
KyRae Kogianes (Riverton, UT) was 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in the winning effort.
Bradshaw turned in a 3-for-5 performance at the plate with a double and one RBI.

Cyndee Bennett and the Bruins is a doubleheader vs. WNC on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Carson City, NV. First pitch for game one is slated for Noon with the day's second contest beginning 30 minutes following the conclusion of the first contest.
