Taylorsville, UT—The
No. 4-ranked SLCC Softball team (36-5, 30-2 SWAC) completed a sweep of the four game weekend series with Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) opponent Western Nevada College (8-31, 5-21 SWAC) on Saturday.
The Bruins topped the Wildcats 12-3 in game one and picked up an 11-0 win in game two, outhitting WNC 23-13 on the day. WNC committed eight total fielding errors in the two contests.
Sophomore pitcher
MaCauley Flint (Roy, UT) picked up the game one win with five strikeouts and two earned runs allowed in four innings pitched. Sophomore designated player
Whitney Holt (Tooele, UT) and sophomore catcher/first baseman
Lyndsey Healey (Spanish Fork, UT) were each 2-for-3 at the plate with each player registering a double, two runs scored and two RBIs.
Freshman pitcher
Alex Petrolia (Henderson, NV) got the shutout win in game two with a pair of strikeouts in five innings of work. Sophomore infielder
Maddy Woodard (Murray, UT) was 2-for-3 with a run scored and two RBIs and sophomore outfielder
Malia Campos (Murray, UT) was 2-for-3 with one RBI and three runs scored.

Mary Kay Amicone and the Bruins is a SWAC doubleheader against rival College of Southern Idaho (35-7, 29-3 SWAC) on Friday, Apr. 12 at Bruin Field. First pitch for game one is slated for 1:00 p.m.
