St. George, UT- The Salt Lake Community College Bruins advanced to the NJCAA National Championship for the second year in a row. Salt Lake defeated Blinn College 6-1 then battled to a 4-1 win over Chattanooga State.
MaCauley Flint allowed one earned run in a 6-1 win over Blinn College. Flint had six strikeouts in five innings of work giving way to
Ariel Zimmerman to close out the game with four strikeouts. Savannah Webster was 2 for 2 with a double and Meagan Nielson was 2 for 3 with a two run home run.
In the semi-final match up, the Bruins took on top seeded Chattanooga State. In a pitcher's duel through three innings it was a two out double by Webster to plate Lauren Miller.
Lyndsey Healey would add a two out triple to plate two more runs. Zimmerman got the win allowing one earned run with seven strikeouts.
The Bruins advance to the Championship game at 2:00 pm at Canyons Complex in St. George, Ut.
The NJCAA has partnered with I-High to provide live streaming audio and video play-by-play coverage of the entire 2012 NJCAA Division I Women's Softball Championship.
