ST. GEORGE – The Salt Lake Community College Softball team completed the four game sweep of Western Nevada by scores of 9-0 and 8-0. The Bruins are 16-4 overall and 8-0 in conference play.
Ariel Zimmerman struck out eight batters in the 9-0 win in game one. Salt Lake scored three runs in the second, third and fourth innings. Kylee Bufton hit two doubles to finish the game 2 for 3 and Star Hutchings was 2 for 2 with three RBI.
In the second game of the doubleheader Salt Lake knocked four home runs to take the 8-0 win. Krystin Jachim started the homerun derby with a two run shot in the first followed by solo home runs from Starlee Hutchings and Shay Wallace. Kylee Bufton continued to see the ball well going 2 for 3 with four RBIs.
The Bruins will head to Southern Idaho for the “Black vs. Blue” four game series starting on February 18-19th.
