No. 23 Salt Lake Can't Recover from First Quarter Deficit

Galindo Drops 27, Wills Cardinals Past Bruins

COEUR d'ALENE, Idaho- (Saturday, February 15, 2025)- No. 23 Salt Lake Women's Basketball (18-7, 7-4) fell to North Idaho College 68-61. 

The Bruins trailed 12-27 at the end of the first quarter. Salt Lake outscored North Idaho in the other three quarters, but it wasn't enough. 

Freshman Simran Williams led the Bruins with a career-high 25 points. Sophomore Laura Di Stefano was the other Bruin in double-figures with 12 points. 

Salt Lake struggled from deep going 4-22. Di Stefano hit two of the four made three-pointers. The Bruins struggled from the line as well going 11-20 on free throws. 

This game had big implications and the result dropped Salt Lake to third place and kept North Idaho (17-9, 9-3) in first place.
