Kenzie Newton Named Women's Basketball Head Coach

Salt Lake City, Utah- The next chapter of Salt Lake Women's Basketball is underway as Kenzie Newton is officially the new Bruins head coach. Newton is from Rush Valley, Utah and has over 20 years of experience working with club programs and coaching high school basketball in the Beehive State. 

"I am humbled and grateful for the opportunity to lead Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball. The tradition is strong, the future is bright, and I am excited to embrace The Bruin Way as we work to build something special together," said Newton. 

Newton's coaching career includes head coaching roles at Grantsville, Stansbury, and Mountain Ridge High Schools, where she led multiple region championship teams, earned Region Coach of the Year honors, and established strong player development pipelines. At Stansbury, she founded the school's basketball program and guided it to two region titles and four state quarterfinal appearances.

She also gained collegiate coaching experience at Westminster University, contributing to recruiting, scouting, and player development. In the club basketball space, Newton served as Elite Director of Flash Basketball Academy before founding Utah Summitt Basketball in 2020. Throughout her career, she has helped numerous athletes advance to the collegiate level and is recognized for developing disciplined, competitive, and successful programs.

As a standout player at Snow College and Southern Utah University, she helped lead Snow College to a conference championship and earned degrees in Physical Education and Human Performance and Sports Conditioning.
