Salt Lake ends Gulf Coast Tournament with loss to Gulf Coast State

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 4, 2023) – Salt Lake continued a gauntlet of an early-season schedule, falling 59-51 to the No. 6 Gulf Coast State College Commodores

Heaven Samayoa-Mathis scored 13 points, hitting 5-of-18 shots while playing all 40 minutes. Ana Oliviera Dias was the only other Bruin in double-figures with ten points. 

Salt Lake struggled offensively, hitting 18-of-47 shots (38.3 percent) from the field and 11-of-27 from three-point land. SLCC committed 18 turnovers against two assists.

Salt Lake will play three games in the Arizona Tournament in Thatcher, AZ, November 9-11. The Bruins open the tournament against Trinidad State Junior College on Thursday, Nov. 9 at 9:30 a.m. (MT).
