Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Saturday, November 25, 2023) – A cold third quarter put Salt Lake behind the eight ball, forcing a frenzied comeback that came up short in an 80-78 loss to Odessa.
The Bruins fell to 4-4 with the loss that also ended a modest two-game winning streak.
Heaven Samayoa-Mathis made 8-of-11 shots, including 6-of-7 from deep for a team-high 23 points. Mia Tarver was the only other Bruin in double-figures with 11 points, five assists, three rebounds, and three steals in the loss.
After shooting 73.9 percent in the first half, the Bruins missed their first six shots of the third quarter, allowing Odessa to grab the lead. SLCC stormed back in the final period but couldn't summit the mountain top before time expired.
