Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 5, 2022) – An in-state rivalry game in the Scenic West Athletic Conference ended unfavorably for the Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team Saturday.
Playing at USU Eastern, the Bruins lost a 67-53 decision to the Lady Eagles, getting outscored 38-19 in the second half to fall in the game. SLCC is now 15-7 overall and 7-5 in Scenic West games.
It was Salt Lake who led at halftime, powering to a 34-29 lead after holding USU Eastern to just 29.4 percent shooting in the second quarter (5-of-17). USU Eastern utilized home-court momentum in the third quarter, outscoring SLCC 16-9 in the third quarter and 22-10 in the fourth quarter.
Allyzee Verdan scored 19 points to lead Salt Lake, finishing a perfect 7-of-7 from the floor.
Diarrah Sissoko posted 8 points and
Hennessey Luu-Brown finished with 7 points.
SLCC will play again on Monday in Price, then will host in-state rival Snow College on Saturday.
