Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 12, 2022) – Continuing a string of in-state clashes, the Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team returned home and earned a much-needed win Saturday.
Hosting Snow College, the Bruins posted a 51-40 victory over the Lady Badgers, moving to 2-1 against Snow this season. With the win, SLCC is now 17-7 overall and 9-5 in Scenic West games, which moves SLCC to second place in the latest SWAC standings.
In what was a competitive game from the beginning, the Bruins held a narrow 24-22 lead at halftime. Where Salt Lake took control was in the third quarter, with SLCC holding a 16-3 edge over Snow in the period after limiting the Lady Badgers to just 1-of-10 shooting. SLCC's defense was fierce throughout the game as Snow shot just 31.3 percent and had 20 turnovers.
Diarrah Sissoko had a strong performance for the Bruins, finishing with 16 points on 6-of-11 shooting.
Zaliah Adams posted 10 points in the win.
Salt Lake will play a marathon schedule next week, playing four games-in-five days. The stretch will begin on Wednesday with a contest at Southern Idaho.
