No. 14 Bruins dominant in Central Wyoming win, finish ‘Bruin Classic’ at 2-0

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 3, 2022) – The No. 14 Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team posted another dominant victory Saturday, claiming the 'Bruin Classic' tournament title.
 
SLCC earned a 83-54 win over Central Wyoming College in the final game of the 'Bruin Classic', moving to 2-0 in the tournament. Salt Lake is also now 8-0 overall. 
 
The Bruins took advantage from opening tip, rolling to a 22-11 lead after the first quarter. SLCC led by as many as 35 points in the game, limiting Central Wyoming to just 31.7 percent shooting. 
 
Defense made the difference for SLCC, with the Bruins forcing 20 turnovers and scoring 24 points off those turnovers.
 
Allyzee Verdan scored 17 points to lead the Bruins on 8-of-11 shooting. Brooke Donnelly finished with 13 points, while Aminata Diakite and Finau Tonga had 12 points. 
 
The Bruins will play at Snow College on Wednesday to open Scenic West play.
