Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 4, 2022) – Saturday's season opener for the No. 18 Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team couldn't have gone any better.
 
SLCC picked up a 70-65 road win over Western Wyoming Community College. The victory opens up a series of preseason tournaments for the Bruins, which will continue next week in Texas. 
 
The Bruins started well, taking a 37-25 halftime lead. SLCC's defense made the difference throughout the game, with Western Wyoming shooting just 34.5 percent (20-of-58). WWCC also made just 1-of-10 three-point attempts.
 
Aminata Diakite posted 18 points on 7-of-12 shooting. Jamia Carter scored 9 points, while Brooke Donnelly and Ashton Adamson both posted 7 points. 
 
Salt Lake will play its home opener on November 25 against Odessa College.
