SLCC Women’s Basketball downs Snow College

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 20, 2021) - After two heartbreaking defeats earlier in the year, the Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team was finally victorious in a matchup with Snow College.
 
The Bruins overcame a series of one-point losses this season, downing the Lady Badgers by a final score of 58-33. The victory lifts Salt Lake to 14-4 overall and 9-4 in Scenic West play.
 
It was Snow who jumped out with momentum, taking a narrow 11-10 lead after the first quarter. SLCC wrestled a 23-21 halftime lead, before the Bruins went on 35-12 run in the second half to power to the win.
 
Salt Lake's defense was suffocating in the win, limiting the Lady Badgers to just 4-of-26 shooting in the second half. Snow shot just 18.2 percent from three-point range in the game (2-of-11), also committing 20 turnovers.
 
Aminata Diakite led the Bruins with 15 points, while Awa Sidibe contributed 13 points. Lailani Augmon scored 12 points. 
 
Salt Lake will close the regular season next week, hosting USU Eastern and the College of Southern Idaho at home.
