Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 3, 2021) – The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball program opened its 2021-22 season in victorious fashion.
 
SLCC earned a 66-49 win over Monroe Community College, opening a three-game tournament in Texas in impressive fashion. The Bruins are 1-0 overall with the victory.
 
Salt Lake hopped on Monroe early, taking a 16-9 lead after the first quarter. SLCC dominated the game through the paint, outscoring Monroe 22-6 in points-in-the-paint. The Bruins also scored 28 points off turnovers.
Naelle Bernard scored a team-high 23 points on 6-of-10 shooting to lead Salt Lake, while 
Djessira Diawara posted 14 points and 10 rebounds. 
Finau Tonga finished with 10 points. 
Salt Lake will play two more games in the tournament, playing Midland on Thursday and Odessa College on Friday.
