Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 30, 2021) - The Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team closed out a road swing with an impressive victory Saturday.
The Bruins picked up a 72-40 win over Western Wyoming Community College, closing the tournament with an overall mark of 4-0. SLCC led 28-8 after the first quarter and never looked back in the breakaway win.
Once again, holding to a consistent theme, Salt Lake's defense played a strong role in the win as the Bruins forced 25 Western Wyoming turnovers and limited the Mustangs to just 32 percent shooting for the game (16-of-50). On the other side, the Bruins flexed the muscle of efficiency by getting a 31-16 edge in bench points and a 29-8 favorable margin in points-off-turnovers.Â
Salt Lake was led by
Awa Sidibe, who keyed the Bruins with a game-high 18 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Additionally,
Naelle Bernard finished in double-digits with 12 points.Â
SLCC will host face off against Western Wyoming next Friday in a home tournament, facing the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. inside the Lifetime Activities Center.Â
