Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 29, 2020) – Coaches may change, players may change, but one thing hasn't changed – the Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team is still Region 18 champions.
Salt Lake responded from two regular-season losses to the College of Southern Idaho Saturday, downing the Golden Eagles 70-51 in the region final to claim the Region 18 championship for the fourth-consecutive year and locking up another NJCAA tournament appearance. The win boosts SLCC's overall record to 22-7.

Marcilina Grayer praised the efforts of her players in the win.
"Tonight was a great moment for our program," she said. "It was incredible to see our players perform at their best on the biggest stage. This is a 'team win' and we're very excited to be moving forward to represent the Scenic West Athletic Conference in the NJCAA tournament."
A 16-16 tie after the first quarter gave way to the Bruins taking a 34-22 lead after the second quarter, creating a lead they would never surrender. The Bruins clamped down on CSI defensively in the game, holding the Golden Eagles to just 28.3 percent shooting (17-of-60) and just 5-of-19 shooting from three-point range.
Offensively, Salt Lake dominated the paint (holding a 36-18 edge) and made 15-of-19 free throws. The Bruins finished with three double-digit scorers, with
Hazel Fui leading the way with 14 points.
Awa Sidibe, the Co-Region 18 Player-of-the-Year, had a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds in the championship game, while
Ashley Scoggin scored 12 points.
Salt Lake will now await its opponent in the upcoming NJCAA national tournament. Information on upcoming opponents will be available via
