SLCC Women's Basketball to play Snow, CNCC in home-and-away weekend

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 22, 2020) – The Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team had a successful run through the first part of Scenic West Athletic Conference play, continuing its long streak of dominance in the league with a perfect 4-0 record.

The Bruins will look to continue that perfection this week as they open the second run of league play with a home game against in-state rival Snow College before traveling to play at Colorado Northwestern Community College over the weekend. As the only undefeated team left in league standings, Salt Lake has given itself a sizable lead but understands the need for a strong finish to league play.

"Each week has and will continue to be a battle," said SLCC coach Marcilina Grayer. "We must continue to focus on getting better each game and executing the game plan. We are looking forward to starting round two at home on Thursday."

SLCC has a one-game lead over USU Eastern, who went 3-1 in the opening part of the league with a loss to Salt Lake as the only blemish. CSI finished 2-2, while Snow came in a 1-3 with a win over Colorado Northwestern as the only highlight for the program in the first part of league play. CNCC has yet to win a game in the league.

In terms of individual honors, Salt Lake's Awa Sidibe earned the Scenic West Player-of-the-Week honors for her performance in last week's big win over USU Eastern. Sidibe posted 26 points and 9 rebounds in the win.

Salt Lake will host Snow at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Lifetime Activities Center, while traveling to play Colorado Northwestern at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
