SLCC Women's Basketball prepared for home games in Thanksgiving tourney

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 27, 2019) - The Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team had its fair share of adversity last weekend in a preseason tournament.

Playing in the Preseason WNIT - an annual preseason gathering of some of the best teams in the NJCAA - Salt Lake went 1-2 and fell out of the national rankings. Still, SLCC is feeling good about the opportunities that remain in the preseason, including this weekend's annual Thanksgiving tourney inside the Lifetime Activities Center. The Bruins will host Eastern Wyoming College on Friday and Western Wyoming Community College on Saturday in the tournament.

SLCC coach Marcilina Grayer said her team is looking forward to returning to the Lifetime Activities Center.

"We are excited to finally be at home after an 11-day road trip," she said. "We are ready to play on our home floor for our home crowd."

Eastern Wyoming has started the 2019-20 season at 4-3, coming off a win against Williston State. Western Wyoming has opened the year with a mark of 3-3, including a win over Lamar Community College last weekend. Salt Lake earned a 73-26 win over the Mustangs in the season's opening weekend.

Salt Lake will host Eastern Wyoming at 5:00 p.m., with games against Western Wyoming at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. All games will be played inside the Lifetime Activities Center.
