Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 23, 2019) - The No. 19 Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team closed the Preseason WNIT Saturday with a victory.
The Bruins earned a victory over Hill College, closing out a tight 68-61 victory. The win boosts SLCC's overall record to 3-4.
Salt Lake took a strong 23-9 lead after the first quarter, shooting 64.3 percent from the field and going 4-of-4 from three-point range. The Bruins took a 40-24 lead at halftime, thanks to a stiffling defense that held Hill to just 34.8 percent shooting for the game and just 22.2 percent from three-point range.
Leichan Williams led Salt Lake with 19 points, going 6-of-8 from the field and 7-of-10 at the free-throw line.
Fatoumata Jallow scored 15 points, with
Hazel Fui finishing with 10 points.
Awa Sidibe had 11 points off-the-bench.
Salt Lake will be off until Friday for SLCC Thanksgiving Classic. The Bruins will host Eastern Wyoming College at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.Â
