Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 22, 2019) - The No. 19 Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team fell in a preseason contest with No. 5 Seward County Community College on Friday in Texas.
Playing in the consolation round of the Preseason WNIT hosted by Midland College, the Bruins suffered a 59-55 defeat at the hands of Seward County, losing their fourth-consecutive game. The loss drops SLCC's overall record to 2-4.
Salt Lake took a strong 18-10 lead after the first quarter, holding Seward County to 4-of-20 shooting on their way to the hot start. However, SLCC's offense slowed down in the second quarter as an 18-10 Seward run helped the team to a 28-26 halftime lead. In a back-and-forth second half, SCCC hit 9-of-12 foul shots in the fourth quarter to climb to the victory.
Awa Sidibe finished with 14 points to lead Salt Lake, with
Leichan Williams finishing with 13 points on 5-of-6 shooting.
Ashley Scoggin was the other double-digit scorer with 11 points.
Salt Lake will play in a consolation game on Saturday. SLCC's next home game is scheduled for Nov. 29 against Eastern Wyoming.Â
