Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (November 16, 2019) – The No. 13 Salt Lake Community College women's basketball team suffered a preseason loss Saturday.
The Bruins were downed 69-58Â by New Mexico Junior College, losing both games in a preseason tournament against some of the nation's top teams. The loss drops SLCC's overall record to 2-2.

SLCC held an early 12-11 lead at the end of the first quarter before New Mexico came back with a 22-12 run in the second quarter to hold a 33-24 lead at halftime. New Mexico's bench provided a big boost as NMJC finished with a 39-24 edge in bench points. New Mexico's defense also forced 27 Salt Lake turnovers.
Riley Frith led the Bruins with 12 points, making 2-of-4 three-point attempts.
Awa Sidibe finished with 10 points.
Leichan Williams scored 8 points on 4-of-4 shooting. Â
Salt Lake will play in the Preseason WNIT in Texas next weekend, with games starting on Thursday.
