Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (December 28, 2018) - The No. 15 Salt Lake Community College women's basketball program has benefited from the talents of several players through its 14-2 start to the 2018-19 season.

One of the newest contributors to the now ten-game winning streak for SLCC is forward Lauren Gustin, one of the most highly-anticipated players coming out of the Utah high school ranks in years. Gustin's addition to the SLCC roster has already paid dividends for the Bruins, and continued to do so Friday as Salt Lake powered to an 85-48 victory over Gray's Harbor Community College in a tournament hosted by the College of Southern Nevada.

A day after finishing with a double-double of 28 points and 18 rebounds, Gustin finished with 25 points and 23 rebounds on 10-of-20 shooting. The freshman from Salem Hills High School had 12 offensive rebounds.

Bruins coach Betsy Specketer said she was impressed with the overall team performance, noting Gustin's excellence.

"We played another great game of team defense and really hit the glass hard," she said. "(Gustin) had another great offensive game and I thought our team did a nice job of getting her the ball and sharing it in general."

Salt Lake held a 29-7 lead after the first quarter, thanks to holding Gray's Harbor to just 3-of-16 shooting. The Bruins also held a 44-22 advantage in points-in-the-paint, while also outscoring Gray's Harbor 34-9 off the bench.

Other Bruins who finished by scoring in double figures included Savanah Crane, who finished with 15 points on a perfect 5-of-5 from the free-throw line. Hazel Fui had a double-double of 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Miki'ala Maio also had 12 points.

SLCC will play another game in Vegas on Saturday, facing off against the Southern Utah All-Stars in a scrimmage. The Bruins will open Scenic West Athletic Conference play on January 5, playing regional rival Southern Idaho.
