Saturday's Win Clinches the Scenic West Regular Season Championship and a Spot in the National Tournament

The Salt Lake Community College (23-4) Women's basketball team ran by Snow College Saturday afternoon 70-54.  The Bruins had four players in double figures lead my Sophomore Raushan Gultekin and Freshman Clarissa Sabedra, who each had 17 points.  Cassidy Whitney scored 16 points and had 8 rebounds along with 4 assists to lead the balanced attack.  Sophomore Tanesha Daniels rounded out the double figure scorers with 10 points.

With Salt Lake leading 36-27 at half,   the Badgers (20-5) came out hot in the second half and cut the lead to 3.   The # 6 Nationally Ranked Bruins responded and outscored the Badgers 36-34 in the second half to preserve the victory.  With the win, the Lady Bruins clinched the Scenic West regular season championship with two games  to play and qualified for a spot in the National Tournament t in Salina, Kansas March !6- 21.

The Bruins finish the regular season next week with two games at the Lifetime Activities Center.  On Thursday the College of Southern Idaho will be in town and Saturday's game will feature North Idaho College.  Games time for Thursday is 6:00 pm and Saturday's game will tip at 5:00 pm
