SLCC Women's Basketball Defeat North Idaho 73-47

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah- Salt Lake Community College women's basketball defeated conference opponents North Idaho 73-47 at home Thursday night. The Bruins improved to 15-4 on the season and 3-1 in conference.

SLCC took the lead within the first two minutes of the game and never looked back.

The Bruins were led by Tanesha Daniels who posted a double-double with 14 points and a game-high 11 rebounds. Daniels connected on 5-of-6 attempts from the field. Raushan Gultekin added 17 points, seven assists, and four steals. Shelby Richards rounded out the night with 15 points.

SLCC largest lead in the first was by 12 points, after Raushan Gultekin connected on two free-throws with 4:12 left in the first. The lady Bruins went into the locker room up 34-26.

Returning from half, SLCC extended the lead to as many as 26 points multiple times. The Bruins stole the ball 15 times to the Cardinals four and shot 53 percent from the field while holding North Idaho to 37 percent.

The Bruins return to action Saturday January 10 when they host the College of Southern Idaho. Tip-off is at 3 p.m.
