Coeur d'Alene, ID—The No. 8-ranked SLCC Women's Basketball team (22-5, 11-1 SWAC) edged Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) rival North Idaho College (NIC) (20-8, 6-7 SWAC) 51-48 on Thursday night at Rolly Williams Court. The Bruins completed a 3-0 regular season series sweep of the Lady Cardinals with Thursday night's road win.

SLCC held NIC to five points in the last eight minutes and 30 seconds of the contest. The Bruins held NIC to 17 second half points and out-rebounded the Cardinals 39-29. SLCC finished at 38.5 percent shooting on 15 of 39 from the field and the Bruins went 18-for-24 from the free throw line.

NIC shot 30.0 percent from the field with 16 made baskets on 53 attempts and the Cardinals were 12-of-18 from the free throw line. Salt Lake's bench scored 22 points to 12 bench points for North Idaho.

SLCC remains in first place atop the SWAC standings ahead of No. 9-ranked College of Southern Idaho (CSI) (25-3, 11-2 SWAC) and owns the tiebreaker by virtue of a pair of head-to-head wins over the Golden Eagles.

Stats vs. NIC: Bruin sophomore forward Britney Johnson (Pleasant Grove, UT) scored nine points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Sophomore forward Bella Swan (Farmington, UT) added eight points and seven rebounds and sophomore guard Mercedes Riggs (Lindon, UT) turned in nine points including a key three point shot late in the contest to tie the game.

Freshman guard Raushan Gultekin (Lund, Sweden) finished with five points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal off the bench.

Head Coach Betsy Specketer and the Bruins will play their final regular season road game against CSI on Saturday, Feb. 15 in Twin Falls, ID. The Bruins lead the regular season series with the Golden Eagles 2-0. SLCC defeated CSI 70-58 on Jan. 2 in Twin Falls, ID and the Bruins topped the Golden Eagles 67-60 on Jan. 25 at Bruin Arena.
