Price, UT—The No. 7-ranked SLCC Women's Basketball team (20-4, 9-0 SWAC) won its 15th consecutive game by defeating in-state foe USU-Eastern (11-12, 5-4 SWAC) 71-56 on Thursday night in Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) play. SLCC now leads the regular season series with USU-Eastern two games to none with one more regular season contest between the schools remaining on the schedule.

Salt Lake leads the SWAC standings by two full games over rival No. 11-ranked College of Southern Idaho (CSI) by virtue of two head-to-head victories over the Golden Eagles.

SLCC out-rebounded USU-Eastern 55-46 and shot 39.3 percent from the field. The Bruins 7-for-18 from three point range and made 16 of 27 attempts from the foul line. USU-Eastern finished at 27.8 percent shooting and was 7-of-31 from three point range.

Stats vs. USU-E: Bruin freshman guard Cassidy Fraughton (American Fork, UT) led all scorers with 20 points and completed a double-double with 11 rebounds including four on the offensive end. Sophomore guard Mercedes Riggs (Lindon, UT) turned in 13 points with four rebounds, six assists and three steals and sophomore forward Britney Johnson (Pleasant Grove, UT) added 10 points with five rebounds.

Next up for Head Coach Betsy Specketer and the Bruins is a road trip to Rangeley, CO for a matchup with SWAC opponent Colorado Northwestern Community College (CNCC) (5-17, 0-9 SWAC) on Saturday, Feb. 1 with tipoff slated for 3 p.m. SLCC eased past CNCC 70-46 on Jan. 9 at Bruin Arena.
