SALT LAKE CITY—The
No. 7-ranked SLCC Women's Basketball team (19-4, 8-0 SWAC) defeated Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) rival
No. 8-ranked College of Southern Idaho (CSI) (21-3, 7-2 SWAC) by a final score of
67-60 on Saturday at Bruin Arena. The win for SLCC marks its 14
th consecutive victory and ends a seven-game win streak for the Golden Eagles of CSI.
The Bruins trailed by five points at the halftime break but held the Golden Eagles to just 20 second half points en route to the home victory. SLCC remains atop the SWAC standings and now leads CSI by two games in league play. Salt Lake kept its unbeaten home record intact with the Bruins moving to 10-0 at Bruin Arena this season.

Cassidy Fraughton (American Fork, UT) led all scorers with 23 points and completed a double-double with 13 rebounds. Sophomore forward
Bella Swan (Farmington, UT) added 14 points off the bench and had four rebounds in the winning effort.

Mercedes Riggs (Lindon, UT) turned in eight points with seven rebounds and seven assists and sophomore guard
Natalie Parsons (Bountiful, UT) finished with six points, five rebounds and five assists.

Betsy Specketer and the Bruins is a road trip to Price, UT for a matchup with in-state opponent USU-Eastern on Thursday, Jan. 30 at 5:30 p.m. SLCC defeated USU-Eastern 82-63 on Jan. 11 at Bruin Arena.
