SALT LAKE CITY—The
No. 10-ranked SLCC Women's Basketball team (16-4, 5-0 SWAC) picked up its 11
th consecutive win by defeating in-state rival USU-Eastern (9-10, 3-2 SWAC)
82-63 on Saturday night at Bruin Arena.
SLCC remains atop the Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) standings as the only team in the conference without a loss in league play.
The Bruins shot 50.8 percent from the field in the winning effort and the team made 10 of its 20 three point attempts. USU-Eastern finished at 32.0 percent from the field and the Golden Eagles made eight of 24 attempts from beyond the arc.

Natalie Parsons (Bountiful, UT) led all scorers with 22 points and was 5-for-7 from three point range. Sophomore forward
Britney Johnson (Pleasant Grove, UT) finished with 19 points, eight rebounds and two steals and went 8-for-9 from the field in the winning effort.

Summer Yack (South Jordan, UT) added 12 points with four assists and three rebounds and sophomore guard
Mercedes Riggs (Lindon, UT) rounded out SLCC's four players in double figures with 10 points and completed a double-double with 10 assists in the home victory.

Betsy Specketer and the Bruins is a home matchup with in-state rival Snow College on Saturday, Jan. 18 at 3 p.m. The contest takes place on SLCC's annual 'Shoot Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Night' and fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to show support for the cause.
