Price, UT—The
No. 16 SLCC Women's Basketball team (18-10, 9-6 SWAC) defeated in-state opponent USU-Eastern (10-18, 6-9 SWAC) 76-50 in Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) play on Saturday. The Bruins out-rebounded the Golden Eagles 48-36 in the final contest of the regular season. The Bruins will enter next week's
Region 18 Basketball Championships in Coeur d'Alene, ID as the
No. 3 seed.
Sophomore center
Rachel Morris (Mesquite, NV) turned in a double-double scoring 18 points on 9-of-13 shooting to go with 11 rebounds in the winning effort. Freshman forward
Bella Swan (Farmington, UT) scored 11 points and freshman guard
Summer Yack (South Jordan, UT) added 11 points as well, making three of her four attempts from three point range.

Miranda Averett (Price, UT) scored seven points off the bench to go with eight rebounds and four assists and freshman forward
Lizzy Harrison (Suffolk, UK) tallied seven points for her career-high as a Bruin. SLCC shot 50.0% from the field and was 4-for-6 as a team from three point range in the road victory.
Next up for Head Coach
Betsy Specketer and the Bruins is a first round matchup in the
Region 18 Championships on Thursday, Feb. 28 in Coeur d'Alene, ID. SLCC will square off with sixth-seeded Colorado Northwestern CC (CNCC) (14-16, 3-12 SWAC) in the opening round with tipoff set for Noon (PT). The Bruins won the regular season series vs. CNCC 2-1.
