Coeur d'Alene, ID—The No. 16-ranked SLCC Women's Basketball team (13-8, 4-4 SWAC) lost to No. 2-ranked North Idaho College (NIC) (23-1, 7-1 SWAC) 68-54 on Saturday in Scenic West Athletic Conference (SWAC) play. The Bruins tried to battle back from a 10-point halftime deficit, trailing by as many as 20 points and trimming the Cardinal lead to nine, but NIC had four players in double figures and out-rebounded the Bruins 31-24 to seal the win.

SLCC sophomore center Rachel Morris (Mesquite, NV) scored 10 points and grabbed six rebounds and freshman guard Natalie Parsons (Bountiful, UT) scored 11 points in the losing effort. Freshman guard Miranda Averett (Price, UT) came off the bench to score 11 points.

Next up for Head Coach Betsy Specketer and the Bruins is a home matchup with Colorado Northwestern CC on Thursday, Jan. 31 at 5:30 p.m.
