SALT LAKE CITY- The Salt Lake Community College women tallied their first conference win with a 20 point defeat of Colorado Northwestern (CNCC). Salt Lake took a ten point lead into half time and continued the relentless play after the break. The 66-46 win takes Salt Lake's record to 10-6 overall and 1-2 in conference play.
Ball sharing was the theme of the night with Salt Lake players dishing out 17 assists on the night. Guard
Katie Walker led the team with seven assists and on the receiving end Sophia Hepworth scored a team high 18 points on 9 of 11 shooting.
Fawn Brady added 15 points with six rebounds with
Nicole Newbold scoring 13 points with eight boards.
Marissa Robbins collected a team high 10 rebound with seven points, two blocks and three assists. The Bruin height in the middle proved too powerful outrebounding CNCC 49-26 with 12 second chance points.
The Bruins (10-6, 1-2) look to even their conference record as they do battle with USU-Eastern Utah in Bruin Arena tomorrow, tip-off scheduled for 3:00 pm.
