TWIN FALLS, ID- The Salt Lake Community College Volleyball team finished opening weekend undefeated after defeating Snow College (3-2) and Northwest College (3-0). Maddie Bushman was on fire with 25 kills and 25 digs over the last two matches.
The Bruins coasted past Northwestern College in three sets 25-21, 25-23 and 25-18. Bushman finished with 10 kills and 11 digs. Libero Whitney Ashton had 14 digs and Kellie Turner added 7 kills.
The final match of the weekend proved to be #7 SLCC toughest going five sets with Snow College (25-22, 26-28, 25-19, 20-25, 15-11). Salt Lake won games one, three and five led by Bushman's 15 kills and 14 digs. MaKenzie Fahhestock and Layla Redondo each had nine kills and Turner finished with eight kills.
No. 7 Salt Lake (4-0) will return home to host the SLCC Tournament starting on September 2nd against Northwest College and then they will take on #1 ranked Western Nebraska College.
