SALT LAKE CITY- The 19th ranked SLCC Women's basketball team fell to Otero College 71-70.  The Bruins trailed most of the game but went into half time tied 33-33.  With less than two minutes left in the game and Salt Lake trailing by four Hayli Shurtz hit a three pointer from the corner to bring Salt Lake within one point.  A defensive stop later Fawn Brady hit a duce to give the Bruins the one point lead.  After an Otero bucket Salt Lake was unable to hit the game winning shot.  The loss drops Salt Lake's record to 2-4 overall.

Marrisa Robbins led the Bruins with 16 points on 5 of 8 shooting from the floor.  Sophia Hepworth added 15 points while freshmen Fawn Brady (15 pts) and Hayli Shurtz (11 pts) each finished in double digits.   The feisty Bruins defense forced 25 turnovers with 12 steals. However Otero controlled the boards during the game grabbing 42 to Salt Lake's 29 with 14 offensive rebounds.
