Salt Lake, Utah- Going into the 2026 NJCAA Softball season it was only a matter of when head coach Cyndee Bennett would get her 500th career coaching win, not if. This is Bennett's 13th season as the head coach of SLCC softball and she began the 2026 season with a career record of (495-130).
The Bruins just wrapped up some early season action in Florida where Salt Lake won five of their seven games. Midway through the tournament Salt Lake upset #11 Chipola College 11-6 after scoring five runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the lead once again. The upset win was one of three victories for the Bruins on Saturday February 14th, and the win that gave Bennett her 500th win.
"I work for an amazing institution and I'm really proud to be able to accomplish 500 wins for Salt Lake Community College", said Bennett.

As an assistant at SLCC for six years, Bennett won five SWAC titles, five Region-18 titles, and had three National Championship game appearances. As the head coach, she has won five SWAC titles, five Region-18 crowns, and has made one national championship game appearance.
Before coaching at the college level, the Glendale, CA native played softball at the University of Utah and is still in the top 5 in program history for several offensive stats. Bennett was an all-conference player twice.
