Box Score 4 PRICE, Utah (April 11th-12th)- No. 19 Salt Lake Baseball won three out of four games at USU-Eastern over the weekend.
The Bruins won the first game 13-5. Salt Lake had a five run inning in both the third and sixth inning. Luke Jacobs had a solo home run and Eastern Romero hit a grand slam in the sixth. Taylor Ayala had a triple and two other hits. Ayala drove in four teammates and scored three runs. Gage Olsen had six strikeouts and picked up the win for the Bruins.
Salt Lake won game two 12-8. Jalen Seward and Jake Mortensen both hit home runs for the Bruins. Ayala continued to get on base as the infielder went 4 for 5. Kade Gambill went 3 for 5 with three RBI. Austin Taylor picked up the win as he tossed four strong innings out of the bullpen.
The Bruins won game three 14-8 as they broke the score open late. Luke Jacobs hit a RBI triple in the sixth and eventually scored on an error. Kade Gambill hit a three-run home run in the Bruins 5 run seventh inning. Dan Brousseau picked up the win in relief.
USU-Eastern fought off the sweep with a walk-off single and won game four 7-6. The Eagles scored five runs in the first inning. Chandler Reber hit a two-run home run for Salt Lake and Mortensen's RBI single in the eighth tied the game 6-6. Errors hurt the Bruins as four of the eagles' runs were unearned.
