No. 11 Salt Lake wins fourth straight

Luster, Battle pace Bruins in winning effort

TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Wednesday, February 7, 2024) – The No. 11 Bruins won their penultimate road game of the season, downing Colorado Northwestern 76-59.

Salt Lake (21-3, 6-2) won its fourth straight as it jockeys for a position in the tightly packed top half of the Scenic West Athletic Conference Standings. 

CJ Luster made four threes to lead the Bruins with 20 points and six rebounds. Jordan Battle hit six of nine shots for 18 points off the bench. Xavier Edmonds added 14 points, five boards, and two assists before fouling out. Michael Folarin grabbed a team-high eight rebounds in 15 minutes.

Salt Lake's stingy defense held the Spartans to 31 percent shooting.

No. 11 SLCC returns to Bruins Arena on Thursday, February 15, for a tilt with SWAC-leader CSI. Tip-off is at 7 p.m. (MT).  Southern Idaho handed SLCC its first conference loss earlier this season, winning 70-65 in Twin Falls on January 10.

Salt Lake hosts North Idaho before back-to-back home games against Community Christian College on February 21-22.
