TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Saturday, October 19, 2024)— No. 7 Salt Lake controlled the action throughout, beating the Southern Idaho Golden Eagles 2-0 on Saturday afternoon.
Whitney Garn started the scoring in the eighth minute, beating the Golden Eagle keeper to give her team an early 1-0 lead. It was Garn's fourth goal of the season.
The Bruins would take that lead into halftime despite dominating possession and shots in the opening half. SLCC attempted 16 first-half shots with ten on frame compared to just two shot attempts for CSI.
The Bruins grabbed a two-goal lead in the 65th minute when Sophie Eckery assisted Reika Yuba's team-leading sixth goal.
Elle Rafajko and Jasmine Espinoza combined to create the clean sheet for Salt Lake.
