SLCC Women's Soccer Lose in PKs in Nationals Opener

Enid, OKLAHOMA- No. 6 seed SLCC Women's Soccer lost 2-3 in a penalty shootout to No. 10 seed Trinity Valley Community College on day 2 of the 2025 NJCAA Tournament. 

Salt Lake scored first as Kendall Carter scored an unassisted goal in the 17th minute. The Bruins led 1-0 at halftime. 

Trinity Valley took a 2-1 lead as the Cardinals scored two goals in the 51st minute. Elena Sugimoto and Olivia Bailey scored 18 seconds apart for Trinity Valley. Salt Lake equalized in the 64th minute with a goal from Sophie Eckery that was assisted by Eliza Doxey. 

No one scored in either overtime and the Cardinals prevailed in PKs 3-2.
