TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (Wednesday, January 10, 2023) – The Bruins opened Scenic West Athletic Conference play with an important 77-67 win over Southern Idaho.

Salt Lake upset No. 17 CSI for its ninth-straight win, improving to 13-4 and 1-0 in SWAC play.

Each of SLCC's five starters reached double-digit scoring, led by 16 points from Mia Tarver and 15 from sophomore Heaven Samayoa-Mathis.

Tarver, a former East Leopard, finished with six rebounds, five assists, and three steals to lead the Bruins over Southern Idaho.

Ana Oliviera-Dias and Laura Di Stefano added 11 points while Karina Grayer 10 points, five rebounds, and two blocks.

The Bruins shift their attention to the North Idaho Cardinals on Saturday, January 13. Tip-off in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho is scheduled for 1 p.m. (MT)
