Salt Lake coach Shay Goulding-Meurer said her team's focus is on improving after a weekend of tough competition.
"We are going to head into this weekend taking care of things on our side of the net," she said. "I was really impressed with our composure this past weekend in some stressful matches against some of the country's toughest teams. I saw our team learning and applying things in the first week of competition, which makes me very excited for our season ahead."
After a spirited preseason camp, Goulding-Meurer also noted her team's focus is at the appropriate level at this point in the season.
"I feel like our focus was exactly where it needed to be during preseason camp," she said. "I watched our team work to control the things we could control. Our team's ability to process what they needed to get better at was impressive. We are in a good place for continual improvement this season. Going forward, we still want to make our serve and serve-receive our strengths. As we do, our ability to stay in an attack mode will shine and outlast many opponents."
Women's Soccer:Â After an impressive 7-0 win over Central Wyoming to open the season, Salt Lake will take to the road this weekend for its final non-conference games.
SLCC will face off against Laramie County Community College and Colorado State University – Pueblo this weekend, playing both matches in Cheyenne, Wyo. The Bruins are still ranked No. 2 in the NJCAA polls.
