Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 20, 2023) - The Salt Lake Community College baseball team has made history, qualifying for its first NJCAA College World Series in school history.
SLCC had to do it the hard way on 'Championship Saturday' in Nebraska, falling 15-6 in the opening game of the NJCAA West District championship against Southeast Community College, then responding with a dominant 14-1 win.Â

Trey Gambill hit a three-run home run early in game two, with
Taylor Ayala adding a two-run shot late in the game. SLCC held an 8-0 lead after four innings.Â

The Bruins are now 31-18. This is Salt Lake's second season making the West District championship games, falling short to Central Arizona a season ago.Â
Salt Lake will await its seeding and opponent in the upcoming NJCAA College World Series in Grand Junction, Colo.Â
