SLCC Baseball swept by Southern Idaho

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 22, 2023) – 'Sophomore Day' at Cate Field saw a disappointing day of results for the SLCC Baseball team. 
 
Salt Lake fell to 22-14 overall and 20-8 in Scenic West play with a pair of losses Saturday to Southern Idaho, falling in losses of 5-1 and 6-5. The Bruins have now gone a combined 5-3 against the Golden Eagles this season.
 
SLCC will travel to play at USU Eastern next weekend.
 
Southern Idaho 5, Salt Lake 1: CSI took control early and never looked back in the day's opening game.
 
Southern Idaho led 2-0 midway through the fourth inning, with SLCC scoring its only run in the bottom of the fourth inning on a Hunter Neumayer RBI single. The Bruins had nine hits in the loss.
 
Chip Beck was a perfect 4-of-4 in the loss. 
 
Southern Idaho 6, Salt Lake 5: A late SLCC rally came up short in the series finale. 
 
SLCC scored two runs with an out in the ninth inning, tying the game at 5-5 off a Daniel Gonzalez home run. However, CSI added a solo home run in the tenth inning to earn the win.
 
Gonzalez went 2-of-4 in the loss.
