TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (April 19, 2023) – The inconsistency of the spring weather has settled to where the Salt Lake Community College Athletic Department can finally host spring games.
SLCC will host Southern Idaho in both Baseball and Softball this weekend, with scheduled doubleheaders in both taking place on Friday and Saturday. Salt Lake has three consecutive weekends of home games to close the regular season.

Baseball: Sitting in a tie atop the Scenic West Athletic Conference standings, the SLCC Baseball team will welcome in another traditional foe at Cate Field this weekend.
Salt Lake will play host to Southern Idaho for a four-game series, looking to move ahead of Southern Nevada, who is off this week. SLCC went 3-1 against CSI in their first series, with the only loss coming in a 3-2 defeat.
SLCC will play its final series of the regular season next week, taking to the road to play at USU Eastern.
Softball: A four-game series with Southern Idaho highlights the weekend schedule for No. 12 SLCC.
The Bruins will look to add to Scenic West lead, hosting a CSI squad that is currently second in the league standings. SLCC went 3-1 against the Lady Golden Eagles on the road earlier this year, adding to what is now a six-game lead for Salt Lake.

Cyndee Bennett said a matchup of the league's top programs always brings excitement.
"This is a big weekend for us," she said. "We play the second-place team and need to secure some wins to keep us on top of the conference.
"It takes a lot of discipline to keep the energy up for all opponents. We have small goals each week to focus on maintaining our energy."
Track: The 'Runnin' Bruins' will compete this weekend in the Robison Invitational at BYU.
SLCC will run both Friday and Saturday in the event. The Bruins will compete at Idaho State next weekend.
