Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 4, 2023) – The Salt Lake Community College Baseball team split a Scenic West Athletic Conference road doubleheader Saturday.

SLCC had a mixed day in a pair of games against No. 15 Southern Nevada, falling in a decision of 9-4 and then winning 11-0. The Bruins are now 4-8Â overall and 2-2 in Scenic West games.

Salt Lake will host Colorado Northwestern in a series next week, playing doubleheaders on Friday and Saturday at Cate Field.

Southern Nevada 9, Salt Lake 4: A late offensive flurry by CSN lifted the Coyotes to a victory to open the day.

Salt Lake and Southern Nevada went back-and-forth for the early innings, with
Preston Winget hitting an RBI single in the third inning to give SLCC an early lead.
Jarret Elmer then hit a two-run home run in the fifth inning to lift the Bruins to aÂ

Salt Lake 11, Southern Nevada 0: A dominant performance by
Chip Beck lifted the Bruins to a strong victory.

SLCC took an early lead and never looked back, with Beck hitting a solo home run in the second inning to give the Bruins a 6-0 lead. Beck then hit another shot, this time a two-run home run, in the fourth inning to add to the advantage.
Jaxon Weatherly also hit a three-run home run in the fourth inning.

Beck was 2-of-2 in the game, while
Preston Winget went 2-of-3.
Dalton Smith earned the pitching win, throwing five innings and finishing with five strikeouts.Â
