Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (March 28, 2023) - The Salt Lake Community College Baseball team utilized one of the rare 'good' weather days on the Wasatch Front Tuesday, posting a sweep in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
 
SLCC capped off a four-game sweep of in-state rival USU Eastern, posting wins of 3-2 and 10-5 at Cate Field. The Bruins are now 15-9 overall and 13-3 in Scenic West Athletic Conference play.
 
Salt Lake will travel to Southern California for a four-game series with Community Christian Friday. 
 
Salt Lake 3, USU Eastern 2: SLCC posted a dramatic, come-from-behind win in the day's opening game.
 
Trailing 2-1 in the bottom of the seventh inning, Daniel Gonzalez tied the game on an RBI bunt single. Gonzalez scored the winning run on a Jaxon Weatherly line-out to right field. USU Eastern held an early 2-0 lead, prior to Chip Beck hitting an RBI single in the fourth inning. 
 
Gonzalez was 2-of-3 in the game to lead Salt Lake.
 
Salt Lake 10, USU Eastern 5: A pair of multi-run innings lifted the Bruins to the series sweep.
 
SLCC scored four runs in the sixth inning and five runs in the eighth inning to earn the win, utilizing nine hits and ten walks. Taylor Ayala was 3-of-5 in the win. Chip Beck was 2-of-4 in the victory.
