No. 11 SLCC Baseball closes ‘Zinger Bat’ tourney with dominant win

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (February 5, 2023) – The No. 11 Salt Lake Community College Baseball team closed a respected preseason tournament with a dominant win Sunday.
 
Playing in its final game of the 'Zinger Bat' tournament, SLCC earned a 19-6 win over Yavapai College, finishing the tournament with a record of 2-2. The Bruins are now 2-6 overall.
 
Salt Lake took an early lead and never looked back, with Jalen Seward and Chip Beck combining for to helped the Bruins to a 6-1 lead in the second inning. Beck and Hunter Neumayer added more runs in the third inning. Ethan Lamb closed scoring off with a three-run home run in the ninth inning.
 
SLCC will host Dawson Community College in a four-game series at Cate Field, starting on Feb. 24.
