SLCC Women’s Basketball drops home game with Snow

Box Score TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (January 19, 2023) – Losses sting; in-state rivalry losses downright hurt.

In sports, winning is a cure for the ills of losing; winning in-state games is a significant cure. The Salt Lake Community College Women's Basketball team experienced the pain of dropping an in-state game Thursday, falling to Snow College, 68-60.

SLCC took a 35-31 halftime lead, overcoming early offensive struggles with grit and determination. Unfortunately, the Bruins were outscored 21-13 in the third quarter, never leading again. Salt Lake shot just 32.8 percent from the field in the game, going 4-of-20 from three-point range.

Jamia Carter led the Bruins with 14 points, while Aminata Diakite posted 13 points. Zaliah Adams had 12 points and Allyzee Verdan finished with 10 points.

SLCC is now 15-5 overall and 5-4 in Scenic West Athletic Conference games.

Salt Lake will host Community Christian on Saturday, playing the Crusaders at 1:00 p.m.
