Box Score 2 TAYLORSVILLE, Utah (May 4, 2022) – The No. 12 Salt Lake Community College Baseball team didn't get caught dreaming through a California doubleheader Wednesday.

SLCC played well from start-to-finish, earning a doubleheader sweep over Community Christian with victories of 14-1 and 10-0. The victory lifts the Bruins to 41-8 overall and 35-4 in Scenic West games.

Salt Lake and Community Christian will play the series finale on Thursday.

Salt Lake 14, Community Christian 1: A sharp performance lifted the Bruins to the run-rule win.

SLCC scored 10 runs in the sixth inning to end the game prematurely – a game that featured 12 hits. The Bruins also benefitted from 5 CCC errors.Â

Jaxon Weatherly went 2-of-3 at the plate with a trio of RBI's to lead Salt Lake. The Bruins had five players finish with multi-hit games.
Derik Eaquinto earned the pitching win, throwing five innings and posting five strikeouts.

Daxton Purser earned the pitching win, throwing five innings and posting four strikeouts. SLCC's pitching staff allowed just one hit in the win.Â
